Oliver Drinkwater, the sole UK importer of E&P LevelSystems has made a significant investment in his business and a major commitment to his nationwide dealer network by launching a centre of engineering excellence at his UK headquarters in Blackburn. It’s also open 5 days a week to motorhome owners and caravan owners keen to explore the benefits of an E&P levelling system – and to see the system in action before they buy.
“In the last year, the demand for our levelling systems from motorhome and caravan owners has increased dramatically,” says Oliver. “Although we have a network of accredited dealers throughout the UK, trained to fit our E&P levelling Systems, we wanted to go one step further and offer a purpose-built training facility so that they could continue to learn. Our business is growing; the range of vehicles that levelling systems can be fitted to is growing too. Because the UK has such a huge range of motorhomes and caravans, we have to prototype and test installations before our dealers can start fitting them. We call it Responsible Engineering. We have to lead first, showing our dealers how to install and service to the highest standards. We are also offering a complete fitting service to motorhome and caravan owners too.”
Oliver explains: “Earlier this year I could see we’d reached the stage where having a UK-based training facility was important if we were to provide the support and technical training needed to keep our dealers and our products at the high end of the market. Technology does not stand still. Having a self-contained building with a training room, workshop and ample parking for the biggest caravans and motorhomes located at our headquarters is very convenient. We can train our dealers, welcome customers old and new and even show members of the media what we have to offer!”
The unit also boasts a caravan demonstrator and motorhome demonstrator. “Customers can call in, have a demonstration and bring their motorhome or caravan for a ‘Levelling Appraisal’ free of charge. If they like what they see, they can book their vehicle in for the E&P levelling system to be installed and tested by our engineers at our new unit in Blackburn in a matter of days. We don’t currently have an accredited dealer in the north-west of England which has made this even more of a timely move.”
Drinkwater concludes, “What I have planned with our dealers is not that dissimilar to the CPD programmes that some professionals have to undergo each year to retain their qualifications. Responsible Engineering is at our very core. It gives us a competitive edge and, it ensures that our customers receive the very best service.”
